A new ice-cream and coffee shop looks set to open in Banbridge.

The venture has been proposed by a Tandragee man, Darren Ogle.

He had submitted proposals for a change of use to allow the new outlet to proceed.

The applicant hopes to open his ice-cream and coffee shop at 21 Rathfriland Street in the form, premises describe as a former optician.

The application had been submitted to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for consideration.

And planners are recommending that it should be allowed to proceed and will present that positive opinion to the first planning committee sitting of the new council in June.
