A Darkley man accused of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm to a male and rob him of a mobile phone is set to have the matter elevated to the Crown Court.

Gary Cassidy (45), of Darkley Road, is alleged to have committed offences on April 15 this year.

At Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday the defendant was further remanded in custody and the case was adjourned to September 12 to fix a date for a preliminary enquiry – the legal step to send the matter to the Crown Court.
