A tiny Co Armagh village could shortly see a major housing boost.

There are plans in place to build a total of 20 new houses at Clare, near Tandragee.

And according to Construction Information Services, delivering the proposals would cost in the region of £1.8 million.

The earmarked site is described as being “35m east of 5 Clare Road, Clare”.

The application, in the name of Hillsborough-based Geddis and Simpson Contractors, has been submitted to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for consideration.

If approved, locals will see a total of 20 new properties constructed on what is described currently as”agricultural land”.

The proposals will be advertised next week.
