Sinn Féin councillor Terry Hearty has described the shooting of live rounds at a property on the Newry Road out of Crossmaglen as ‘reckless and dangerous.’
The shooting is believed to have occurred between 8pm on Wednesday 20th November and 9.30am on Thursday 21st November.
Councillor Hearty said: “These shots damaged the windows and walls of a house on the Newry Road at some point during Wednesday night. Thankfully the property was unoccupied at the time and nobody was physically injured.
“This is a shocking incident which could have had a much more sinister outcome had the property been occupied at the time.
“I visited the family and they are naturally shocked at being intimidated in this way. Actions like this are unacceptable and I am glad that nobody was hurt in this attack.”
Anyone with information on this incident should bring it to the police.
