Man accused of stealing over £3,000 worth of goods in shoplifting blitz

Stores in Craigavon, Lurgan and Portadown were allegedly targeted

A man has been charged with stealing over £3,000 worth of goods in a shoplifting blitz in Craigavon, Lurgan and Portadown.

Paul Gerard Shields (39), of Almond Drive, Dunmurry, is alleged to have committed the thefts on November 4 last year.

He allegedly took £1,300 worth of goods from Lifestyle Sports at Rushmere Shopping Centre; £1,248 worth of goods from O’Neill’s in Craigavon; £455 worth of goods from Sports Direct in Lurgan; and £223 worth of items from Lidl in Portadown.

At Craigavon Magistrates’ Court the case was adjourned to August 15.
