New weekly Junior parkrun in the borough gets off to a flying start!

More than 60 turn out for first weeks of new Lurgan Park event

Deputy Lord Mayor, Councillor Sam Nicholson ready to start the Junior parkrun in Lurgan Park.

More than 60 young people have attended the first few weeks of the new Junior parkrun.

Held at Lurgan Park, it is a fantastic way to get children and young people out into the fresh air and enjoying some exercis.

Taking place every Sunday at 9.30am, children aged four to 14 can come along and enjoy walking, jogging or running their way around the 2k route, at their own pace.

The run is free and timed – all you have to do is register your child for their first run and bring along a printed copy of the bar code. You only need to register once and they can take part every week.

The first few weeks of the run has seen over 60 children taking part and enjoying themselves, so why not sign up your child and get involved?

To register your child simply log on to: www.parkrun.org.uk/lurgan-juniors then meet at the Cricket Pavilion in Lurgan Park on Sunday mornings.

The Junior parkrun is organised by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, the Public Health Agency and St Peter’s Athletic Club.
