Keady’s Irish language pre-school seek approval to build home of their own!

Naiscoil An Cheide is currently based within St Francis of Assisi Primary but now want to build their own separate accommodation within the school grounds

An Irish language pre-school in Keady are hoping to boast a home of their own!

Naiscoil An Cheide are currently located within St Francis of Assisi Primary School.

But now the Irish language medium unit are hoping to build their own accommodation within the school grounds.

A planning application has been submitted by the committee of Naiscoil An Cheide to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council for consideration.

St Francis of Assisi Primary is located on the Madden Row, Keady.

The hope of Naiscoil An Cheide is to construct a separate unit – with a floorspace of 220 sq metres – which would be located 20 metres away from the existing school building.

It would include a large play room, a quiet zone, as well as toilet provision, an office, kitchen and storage facilities.

There would also be a canopy – an outdoor covered play area – for the children to enjoy.

Two new ancillary staff position – one part-time and one full-time – would be created when up and running.

The application is due to be publicly advertised shortly.
