A woman who drove whilst almost four times the legal limit will learn her fate this coming week.

The district judge commented that the 50-year-old was “almost at the spiral to death”.

Gina Mezite, 50, of Avondale Manor, Craigavon pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol and driving without due care or attention at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

Defence solicitor John McAtamney commented: “Given the reading, I think your worship may take a certain view of this case.”

Prosecution told the court that the reading collected was 131mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.

Upon hearing this District Judge Bernie Kelly stated: “That’s  very close to four times the legal limit, she was almost at the spiral to death.”

Given that no licence was before the court, District Judge Kelly adjourned the case for sentencing on June 26.
