Acknowledgment for the late Martin McDonagh (Newry)

McDonagh, Martin. (Newry and Fintona)

The family of the late Martin would like to express our deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for, and supported us through our recent sad bereavement. Martin was a dearly loved brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.

We would like to acknowledge all those who paid their respects in any way. Thank you to those who sent Mass or sympathy cards or flowers and to those who left messages online or via social media.

Thank you to those who called to the wake house, lined the funeral route or who joined us at the Mass. Sincere thanks to all our relatives, friends and neighbours who helped us in so many ways, to grieve as a family.

A special word of thanks to Father Seán Mulligan for his spiritual support and the comforting requiem Mass. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially the readers, and our singer Aoife McCullagh who provided the beautiful music.

Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional way the funeral arrangements were carried out, to Denamona Carriage Hire for providing the horse drawn hearse and to Tommy the gravedigger for preparing Martin’s final resting place. Our thanks also to The Stables Inn for the very welcome refreshments after the funeral.

And finally, we would like to sincerely thank the PSNI for all their help and care for Martin, their kindness will be remembered with gratitude.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude, everyone’s support has not gone unnoticed.

“Our Lady pray for him.”

Martin is forever loved and sadly missed, may his gentle, generous soul be granted eternal rest.

His Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Lawrence’s Church, Fintona at 10am on Saturday October 21.
