Agallamh le Tura Arutura: Interview with Zimbabwe-born artist and Irish language campaigner Tura Arutura

#BlackLivesMatter was the social movement that everybody was talking about in 2020!

Regular visitor to Ard Mhacha and friend of local Irish language group CAIRDE Teo, Zimbabwe-born artist and Irish language campaigner Tura Arutura, was interviewed at a PSNI station on July 30th last year on the grounds that he might have broken that law. He was told he was suspected of “abetting an offence” by addressing a Black Lives Matter protest in Belfast on June 6th.

Cuthbert Tura Arutura lives in Ballygowan in Co Down, and is a Black Lives Matter campaigner who is spending lockdown teaching online Irish dance classes.

Local Irish language campaigner, Gearóid Ó Machail will interview ‘Tura’ in a bilingual interview covering politics, Irish language, dance, lockdown and life! Join us live on Facebook for this fascinating discussion: https://www.facebook.com/AonachMhacha/
