Armagh I People of the Year awards to pay homage to Emergency Services Heroes

This year we have introduced the Emergency Services Hero of the Year award, proudly sponsored by The Mortgage Shop, Portadown & Banbridge

In a year which saw our emergency services play a lead role in what will become an extraordinary story for generations, we wanted to pay homage to those heroes who where faced with little or no choice but to help others.

Sponsor Philip Kerr of The Mortgage Shop in Portadown and Banbridge said: “This award has a personal significance for my wife who had suffered an illness and received outstanding care and assistance from two female ambulance staff, to date we have no idea who they were but we would very much like to track them down. In sponsoring this award I hope to pay a debt of gratitude to all our emergency services as I understand the vital role they play”

Nominees for this award will be frontline service members of staff who have done something to really improve the lives of the service users they work with. Examples include: fire, ambulance, police, coastguard, health professionals etc; ie anyone who works directly with members of the public to deliver an emergency service. This may also be an individual within the sector who has demonstrated outstanding courage in carrying out their daily duties.

(a) demonstrate how they work with respect, integrity and initiative

(b) show how they maintain professionalism in the service they work in

(c) illustrate how they are proud to serve the people of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council Area and South Armagh and Newry City

(d) describe their integrity and selfless dedication to duty

You can nominate up until December 10 using this simple link here. Please note that only the information you submit can be considered when shortlisting, vague nominations may not be shortlisted. To give your nomination the best chance, please include as much detail as possible about their work. The shortlisting panel will not be able to consider information already in the public domain or prior knowledge of the individual.
