Next up, it was time to crown a special someone who has made a remarkable difference in the community.
To present this year’s Community Impact Award for the Armagh I People of the Year Awards in partnership with Armagh Credit Union, we made a surprise visit to Markethill Masonic Hall.
The award – kindly sponsored by Tarasis Enterprises – was presented to the incredible Eileen McKinney for over 35 years of dedicated service to the Special Olympics.
With the help of Eileen’s daughter, Nikki we managed to corner her at a Bowls Tournament to give her that special recognition… much to her amazement!
Eileen has also been teaching and coaching swimming for over 45 years in the Armagh area, helping to set up the Armagh Swimming Club in the 70’s and helping to achieve the best from all the swimmers under her care.
Eileen is now 73 years-of-age and has no notion of stepping down!
