Getactiveabc plays Cupid for Valentine’s weekend

Getactiveabc plays Cupid for Valentine’s weekend with activities, events and promotions planned to give everyone in the family butterflies and a warm fuzzy feeling!

Fall in love again with Craigavon City Park on Saturday February 12, making memories and spending quality time with loved ones.

South Lake Watersports, Craigavon will set the hearts racing with free one-hour rowing boat sessions on Craigavon Lakes, bookable for up to four people between 10am-12pm.

Be warned, their ‘Cupid’s Battle Bows, Kayaking and Sweetheart Climbing Wall’ Valentine package, taking place between 1.30pm to 4pm, is for the truly adventurous. Priced at £14, participants will have the opportunity to try out three great activities over the 2.5 hour experience, taking their Valentine’s weekend to the next level (quite literally).

The Orchard County Orienteers will be hosting a free ‘Valentine’s Venture at Tannaghmore’ between 1pm and 3.30pm in the wonderful surroundings of Tannaghmore Gardens. Offering three different courses, participants will encounter the kissing gate at Tannaghmore Gardens during the event.

Couples who canoodle over its kissing gate are said to marry within the year so just be careful! For old-style romance and some modern ‘strictly’ excitement, South Lake Leisure Centre will be joining in the Valentine’s fun on Saturday February 12, by hosting its first community dance in the new Dance Studio and proving that couples who sway together stay together.

With the ultimate Valentine playlist, couples will take to the floor from 2pm to 4pm and can then enjoy a scrumptious high tea, prepared by Café IncredABLE at South Lake. Just grab those dancing shoes and partner up with your other half, friend or relative!

Craigavon and Armagh parkruns will also be showing the love on Saturday February 12 with Valentine themed morning runs and a prize draw.

Other events taking place over the Valentine’s weekend include ‘Dromore Bowl Me Over’, mini-bowling sessions on Friday February 11 at Dromore Community Centre for all the family to enjoy.

The getactiveabc leisure centres will be encouraging partner workouts with a number of ‘Two’s Company’ Spin and Tai Chi classes and incentives to get the hearts pumping together.

Alternatively make a date this Valentine’s weekend at Craigavon Golf and Ski Centre and have the best craic together racing down the slopes on a snowtube, clinging to each other as you don a pair of skis or embracing adventure by signing up to the ‘Snowboard in a Day’ course on Sunday February 13.
