A lorry driver was stopped on the M1 by police after the occupant was spotted driving with his feet up.
In what a police spokesperson described as a “rather relaxed attitude” to road safety, the man was spotted by officers from the Mahon Road Station Portadown, with his right foot up resting on the dashboard and the top of the driver’s door.
The spokesperson added: “In this position, his ability to brake quickly in an emergency would have been clearly affected, and driving a vehicle of this size and weight could have life threatening consequences.”
As a result, a fixed penalty notice was issued to the driver for not having proper control of the vehicle.
