Fun-filled family trip ideas from Carlingford Adventure Centre – Carlingford Lough Ferry – Cranfield West Beach

Here’s a lovely day trip taking in Cranfield West Beach, Co. Down and Carlingford Adventure Centre.

Pack the bags and the kids into the car and head for our Car Ferry Terminal at Greencastle, Co. Down. You can purchase your tickets for any sailing in advance on line at www.carlingfordferry.com and avail of a 10% online discount, or you can purchase them onboard once you arrive.

Sailing across Carlingford Lough between Greenore Co. Louth and Greencastle Co. Down, the Carlingford Lough Ferry makes for a seamless and scenic travel experience across one of Ireland’s most picturesque loughs!

Once onboard the open-air ferry, you’ll enjoy fresh sea air and panoramic views of the Mourne Mountains and Cooley Peninsula as you cross. Make sure you keep an eye out for Finn the Dolphin!

On arrival to our terminal at Greenore, Co. Louth, head towards Carlingford town, located just 3km from our terminal where you’ll find Carlingford Adventure Centre and Skypark.

The Carlingford Adventure Centre has loads of exciting family activities on offer, including SkyPark with an aerial adventure course and zipline, and SkyPark Junior for 5-8-year olds. There’s also a mini golf course and sandpit with mini diggers for tots.

After a morning on the high ropes its time for lunch. Carlingford has lots of lovely restaurants and pubs that serve food. Or you can grab a takeaway and stroll down to the harbour and enjoy lunch by the water.

After lunch its back in the car and off to the Carlingford Lough Terminal to grab the ferry and head to the beach!

No matter the season, going to the beach is always great family fun! You will find a small coffee stop at our Greencastle terminal if you need to grab some caffeine supplies for the little ones! When you depart the ferry head to Cranfield West Beach which is just minutes away from Greencastle Port with the beautiful Mourne Mountains as your backdrop.

If you there until evening you can enjoy the sunset all across the beach so well worth having the camera to hand.
