The family run Carlingford Oyster Company is based in the heart of Carlingford Lough where oysters have thrived for many centuries. The Carlingford Oyster Company are passionate about oysters and nature and over the years have created the ideal location to grow oysters right on the doorstep in Carlingford Lough.
The unique sweet taste and high meat content of the Carlingford Oyster is one of nature’s real treasures and these award winning oysters feature in many of the top restaurants throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom.
Meet the makers and learn the secrets behind the cultivation of these award winning oysters, as we cruise past the famous Carlingford Lough Oyster beds. Feast on a range of fresh oysters and savour their unique tastes when served with different dressings. Your Oysters will be perfectly accompanied with the unique taste of Guinness.
Guests will be seated at picnic tables for this unique Oyster Tasting event. Tickets will be sold as private table or shared tables. Each picnic table seats four people and individual seats also can be purchased and allocated to a particular table.
Afterwards, enjoy live music as we cruise the iconic Carlingford Lough, with its panoramic views of the Cooley Peninsula and the majestic Mourne Mountains. These cruises take us along the Southern shoreline, past the Carlingford Oyster beds and medieval town of Carlingford with its picturesque marina and imposing King John’s Castle. On the Northern shoreline, enjoy panoramic views of Greencastle Royal Castle, and Rostrevor Bay, as the sun sets on the majestic Cooley Peninsula and Mourne Mountain region.
Board the cruises at our terminals at either Greenore, Co. Louth or Greencastle, Co. Down, and begin your cruise along this panoramic Lough area. Keep an eye out for Finn, Carlingford Lough’s resident dolphin as we depart. He’s sure to pop up and say hello!
