Cooley Whiskey Tour (Distance: 8km from our Greenore Port)

Cooley Distillery was the first new whiskey distillery to be set up in Ireland in over 100 years and it was Ireland’s youngest, smallest and only independent whiskey distillery.

It was established in 1987 in the Cooley Peninsula in Co. Louth, near the border with Northern Ireland, and started distilling in 1989. The Cooley Distillery currently produces 1.5 million litres of pure alcohol and fills approximately 12,000 200L ex-Bourbon casks annually.

A magical village full of character, Carlingford is one of the best-preserved medieval villages in Ireland having been raided by Vikings in the 8th and 9th Centuries.

Calling all Gin Connoisseurs! Listoke Distillery & Gin School, located just North of Drogheda in County Louth, offers Gin lovers an insight into the distillery, production and bottling process of their award winning Listoke 1777 Gin.

Visitors will be treated to a tour of the facility, before getting hands on and creating your very own unique blend of Gin in a carefully crafted Gin Making Class.

Cooley Peninsula Electric Bike Tour (Distance: 6km from Greenore Port)

Perfect for all abilities, why not try an electric bike tour and effortlessly explore the new Carlingford to Omeath Greenway on amazing German built electric bikes!

With amazing views of the Lough, Warrenpoint Harbour and the famous Mourne Mountains, you will experience ancient Omeath, the slopes of Slieve Foy and the Long Woman’s Grave before stopping for refreshments in Lily Finnegans Pub in Whitestown, or John Long’s Pub in Grange, the only thatched pub on the peninsula, before completing the circle of the Great Glen with its magnificent views from Foy to Slane.

E-bikes can be rented for either a half a day, or full day and you will be supplied with everything you need to enjoy your experience safely including a helmet, high vis jackets, maps of the area and an information booklet on all the interesting sights and local legends!
