What’s On: An unmissable November line-up at Market Place Theatre Armagh

The Little Mermaid

Moyraverty Arts and Drama Society is delighted to be back at The Market Place Theatre performing the Broadway version of The Little Mermaid.

Co Armagh’s top musical society is the first group to perform this show.

The entire society will be performing in this production.

The Little Mermaid tells of Ariel, King Tritons daughter who dreams of the world above the sea and gives up her voice to find true love. This is a musical that does justice to the lovely film featuring Prince Eric, Ursula the Sea Witch, Sebastian, Flounder, Scuttle, Flotsam, Jetsam and Ariel’s Mersisters.

With all the classic songs such as ‘Part of Your World’, ‘Kiss the Girl’, ‘Under The Sea’ also featuring fabulous costumes and a very talented cast that will have audiences of all ages entertained!

The Spooky Squad: The Haunting of Ivywood Manor

Join us on the bone-chilling adventure of four brave friends and their loyal canine companion as they unravel mysteries and capture bad guys! The esteemed Ivywood Manor, a hotel with a dark and infamous past, has fallen victim to a haunting presence. Whispers of ghostly apparitions and strange goings-on send shivers down the spines of locals, and it’s up to the Spooky Squad to uncover the truth.

With thrills, laughs and a touch of suspense, can our team uncover the secrets of Ivywood Manor and put an end to this supernatural terror.

Remembrance Festival of Music

The City of Armagh Branch, RBL invite you to join them for their annual Remembrance Festival of Music.

This year we have chosen to reflect on past wars and conflicts and the human cost, remembering especially the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings which led to the eventual liberation of all of Europe as well as reflecting on other more recent conflicts.

A Night With The Country Stars

Back by popular demand ‘A Night With the Country Stars’ returns for another night of toe-tapping magic with five of Ireland’s top stars all on one stage!

The stellar line-up includes the Louisiana Man Robert Mizzell, the super vocals of Sligo’s Patrick Feeney, the multi talented musical maestro from Portaferry Stephen Smyth, the pure low tones of Joe Moore and the yodeling king Kenny Archer, making this a show you wont want to miss.

Each of the stars will perform their trademark hits in the company of Ireland’s top award winning backing band Keltic Storm. Save the date folks and book early as all Country Roads are Armagh bound!

The Pat McManus Band

Former Mama’s Boys and Celtus guitarist and violin virtuoso, Pat McManus, along with band members Paul Faloon on drums and Plunkett McComb on bass return to The Market Place.

The Pat McManus Band have toured and toured for the past seventeen years, playing huge festivals, tours and headlining shows. Within this time Pat has written and released nine albums. Pat has been hailed in the press as one of the top five Irish guitarists.

As always, the set will be packed full of their own special brand of blues rock, infused with a touch of the Celtic, with old favourites and new.

30th William Kennedy Piping Festival Opening Concert

Inaugurated in 1994, the William Kennedy Piping Festival has grown into one of the most prestigious events of its kind in the world.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary, the festival is delighted to present a special evening of music featuring some local superstars plus music from further afield.

The lineup includes Conor Mallon’s ‘Unearthed’ quartet featuring Jack Warnock, Paul Starrett and Fintan Mulholland, festival favourites Duo Lagrange Rutkowski from Central France, the legendary Cavan uilleann piper Pádraig McGovern and piper | singer extraordinaire Calum Alex MacMillan from the Isle of Lewis along with Dàimh guitarist Ross Martin.

The Seeger Sessions Revival

The Seeger Sessions Revival – The 13-piece band ‘reviving’ the spirit, energy and musical exuberance that was Bruce Springsteen’s Seeger Sessions album and live shows.
