Tandragee veteran claims to have been left without support as ‘world encloses’ on five year waiting list

A Tandragee veteran has spoken of her frustration at being left to buy her own mobility scooter despite being placed on a waiting list for surgery as an 'urgent' patient.
Since her 30s, Wendy Helliwell has been suffering with the degenerative effects of osteoarthritis in both her hips and knees.
Despite being just 59 years of age today, the extent of Wendy's condition led one consultant to inform her that "she had the joints of a 90 year old".
Unable to take a step without pain, Wendy said her life is "getting more and more enclosed" as her condition progresses and her mobility declines.
