Tandragee man accused of driving van into wall of pensioner’s home to face Crown Court

He had appeared charged with dangerous driving at Craigavon Magistrates' Court

Craigavon Court

A Tandragee man who is alleged to have driven a van through the wall of a pensioner’s home will face Crown Court proceedings next month.

This related to an alleged incident dating back to January 28 of last year, when the vehicle was allegedly lodged in the wall of the property at Clare Road, Waringstown,

Thomas Peter Carville, 28, of Tullyhugh Park, appeared charged with dangerous driving at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

The defendant confirmed as he stood in the dock that he did not object to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.

Prosecution confirmed that based on the papers before the court they believed there was a prima facie case to answer.

Defence counsel made no contrary submissions.

Carville was released in his own bail of £500 to appear before Craigavon Crown Court on June 27 for arraignment.
