The funeral of a young Tandragee man who tragically passed away on Wednesday evening will take place on Sunday.

Ben Gillis – the precious son of Lynne and Colin – died in hospital three days after suffering a serious injury in a road accident, last Sunday evening, April 16.

His funeral will leave his Knockview Home on Sunday at 3pm for Service in Ballymore Parish, which will be followed by internment in the adjoining graveyard.

Ben’s house will be strictly private from 6pm today (Saturday).

The family has welcomed all to attend the funeral and said no formal dress is required but an array of football tops is what Ben would have wanted.

Car parking is available in Tandragee Primary School and Tandragee Junior High School, the latter of which continued in their tributes.

The principal, Mr Brown, said: “Our school community is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our former pupil, Ben Gillis.

“Ben is remembered with great fondness by staff and peers. He was a talented sportsman and contributed freely to the school’s extra-curricular activities.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his entire family circle and friends at this time and in the days ahead.”
