Arguably one of the worst surfaces in Co Armagh; the Dundalk Road in and out of Newtownhamilton is getting a makeover.
Residents – motorists in particular – will be delighted to hear that works are to begin on the much-maligned route in and out of the town.
The Department for Infrastructure had committed to improvement works back at the end of 2022 – 14 months later and the workers are on site!
Sinn Féin councillor, Aoife Finnegan, welcomed the work.
The Slieve Gullion councillor said: “This road has been in a poor state for some time and after much lobbying by Sinn Féin, it’s great to see these works beginning.
“The works will no doubt come as a great relief to local residents and all who travel on this road on a regular basis.
“Sinn Féin is determined to improve road safety and quality for all across south Armagh.”
