Portadown man accused of burglary to face Crown Court later this year

A Portadown man accused of burgling a house in the town, stealing a ring and watch, will face Crown Court proceedings later this year.

The 30-year old is also alleged to have stolen a Samsung tablet valued at £150.

Mark Brown, of Margaret Street, appeared charged with burglary and theft at Craigavon Magistrates’ on Friday.

Consenting a preliminary enquiry it was heard the alleged offences occurred on March 17.

The defendant is accused of enter the dwelling in Portadown as a trespasser stealing a watch and ring from inside.

He is also alleged to have stole a Samsung tablet valued at £150.

Prosecution stated that based on the papers before the court they believed there was a prima facie case to answer.

Defence counsel made no contrary submissions.

Brown was remanded in custody to appear before Craigavon Crown Court on October 11 for arraignment.
