St Malachy’s Primary School will open a brand new set of doors to the school community ahead of the commencement of the new academic year.
The special open day, on Tuesday, August 26, will take place at the school’s new temporary site at St Brigid’s off the Convent Road in Armagh.
Starting at 7pm, the open evening will mark an exciting new chapter in the school’s journey in the building that will serve as their “home” for the coming years as they await development of the new, state-of-the-art build in Chapel Lane.
Speaking of the open night, incoming Principal Mrs Catherine Kearney said: “We look forward to welcoming parents and pupils to have a look around the school on Tuesday evening to see what facilities we have to offer, including two assembly halls, forest area, two playgrounds, football pitch, kitchen and dining hall and much more.

“Our new site has been carefully prepared to ensure continuity in learning, safety and wellbeing for all our pupils.
“It is fully equipped to support our curriculum and maintain the high standards of care and education you expect from St Malachy’s.”
Mrs Kearney would like to thank the various contractors, the Parish, the school’s Board of Governors and all those involved in getting the school ready to open.
Her thanks extends to staff, families, local partners for their support and flexibility during the transition.

She added: “Your cooperation and positivity have been invaluable and I am confident that together we will make this a smooth and successful move.”
Recognising the community’s contribution over the last few months in protecting the premises for the incoming pupils, the Principal added: “I would like to thank the community for their support and vigilance in the last few months and urge them to continue to assist the school.”
St Malachy’s officially opens for classes on Thursday, August 28, with staff and students excited to begin this new journey together.
