Police appeal after trailer stolen near A1 outside Newry

When the owner returned to the area to collect the trailer on Saturday, it had been taken.

Police are appealing for information after a trailer was stolen near the A1 dual-carriageway at Newry.

It was taken from the footpath sometime between Tuesday (November 14) and Saturday (November 18).

The trailer had been left parked around 300 yards from the Derrycraw Road junction, which is just off the northbound section of the carriageway.

It was left there on Tuesday after it got a flat tyre.

When the owner returned to the area to collect the trailer on Saturday, it had been taken. The matter was subsequently reported to police yesterday (Tuesday).

A PSNI spokesperson said: “If you witnessed anything suspicious or believe you may have sighted this trailer please contact Police on 101 and quote reference 688 of 21/11/23.”
