A brand-new play park in Mullaghbawn has been hailed as a “fantastic investment in local families and children” following its completion this week.
Sinn Féin representatives Aoife Finnegan MLA and Councillor Áine Quinn visited the finished facility, describing it as a major boost for the community.
Councillor Quinn, who has been closely involved in the project since the start of her council term, said seeing the play park completed was “incredible.”
“This has been a labour of love since the beginning of my time as a councillor, and it’s amazing to see it brought to life,” she said.
“The play park will provide a safe, inclusive, and exciting space for children to enjoy for years to come — right in the heart of our community.”
Councillor Quinn added that an official opening event is in the works, promising “a celebration for the whole community” once details are finalised.
Newry and Armagh MLA Aoife Finnegan described the play park as a “brilliant example” of what can be achieved through local determination and targeted funding.
“This is a fantastic investment in our local community,” she said. “I want to commend the work of local residents and pay tribute to Áine Quinn for her leadership in helping deliver this much-needed community resource.”
“Sinn Féin will continue working to deliver real and meaningful change for our communities and people.”
