For the second time in two weeks a large number of tyres have been dumped at Gosford Forest Park in Markethill.
At some point on Monday tyres were left in a pile on the Tannaghmore Road.
TUV Councillor, Keith Ratcliffe says he is concerned about a pattern of criminality in the area, frequented by visitors from all over.
“This is clearly a pattern and those involved need to feel the consequences of their actions,” said Councillor Ratcliffe.
“The authorities need to act and quickly.”
He added: “I have reported this to the PSNI and Environmental Health and have asked that this is dealt with in the strongest possible way.
“The vast majority of rate payers across this Borough, take considerable time, effort and cost to disregard their waste in a responsible way. And this is an insult to them. This must stop.
“Many thanks to those who have been in touch regarding this issue.”
