Gosford Forest Park plays host to many events throughout the year and next Saturday, May 26, sees another added to the list as Markethill Swifts host Gosford Forest Run in aid of its growing youth section.
Gosford Forest Run was the brainchild of Markethill Swifts chairman and avid runner, Ray McCall who saw it as a perfect way to merge two of his passions.
“I’ve been taking part in a lot of runs over the past couple of years and I thought it would be good to host one locally in aid of our youth section, which now has 11 teams for boys and girls,” explained Ray.
“We are very fortunate to have a beautiful setting like Gosford, which is perfect for running, on our doorstep so all the ingredients were there.”
There will be a 10k, 5k and almost 3k Fun Run on the day, with all runners of the 10k and 5k receiving medals, fruit and water. There will also be bouncy castles and food available on the day.

Early-bird registration ends on Monday, May 21, but runners/walkers can register up until and including on the morning of the race.
Early signs are that the weather should provide perfect running conditions.
