LAMB prices were very firm at Markethill on Wednesday (May 5) with sellers very satisfied with their returns.
Heavy lambs sold from £92 to £98.50 each and from 380p to a top of 410p per kilo for 24 kilos @ £98.50 each. All the heavy lambs sold averaged £94.50 each.
Good quality middleweight lambs sold steadily from 420p to 432p per kilo with a top of 434p per kilo for 21 kilos @ £91.20 each.
Heavy ewes sold in a stronger demand from £65 to £85 each with 2nds from £40 to £55 each.
Another large turnout of ewes + lambs sold in a brighter demand. Good quality singles sold from £140 to £175 each. Doubles sold to £174 each.
