Police in Mid Ulster intercepted a stolen car they described as “tearing through” Dungannon over the weekend.
The driver of the car was stopped in the early hours of Sunday morning (September 6).
A police spokesperson said: “While you were asleep on Sunday morning, a drunk driver was tearing through Dungannon in a stolen car. They didn’t get far.
“Officers from the District Proactive Team became involved in the pursuit of the vehicle before safely bringing it to a stop in Cedar Ridge area of the town. The driver was subsequently arrested by Proactive Team officers.
“The suspect has since been charged with taking without consent, excess alcohol, no licence, no insurance and dangerous driving.
