A County Armagh church’s plans for a new community building to cater for young people – from babies through to teens – will this week be given the blessing of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.
Proposals were brought forward by the Hope Community Church in Craigavon over the summer months.
And after consideration, the intended project will go to council’s planning committee when it sits on Wednesday.
The Hope Community Church, at Highfield Road in Craigavon, has set its sights on a constructing a new ‘multi-purpose community hall’.
This would including catering for a youth club, a craft club and a parent and toddler group.
The new development – an annex to the existing church – would include a main hall with seating, as well as a coffee bar, toilet provision and storage facilities.
The application will be recommended for approval this week by planning officials.
Councillors will have the final say at the mid-week meeting but it is not expected there will be any objections to the development going ahead.
