Three people taken to hospital following early morning Armagh road collision

Three people were taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Armagh this morning (Friday).

The crash, involving a van and a car, happened on the Moy Road shortly before 5am.

The road remains closed to all traffic between both Drumcairn Road junctions as a result.

Two fire crews from Armagh and Dungannon attended the scene.

A NI Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Two males had self-rescued from the van and firefighters assisted NIAS with rescuing one male from the car.

“All casualties were taken into NIAS care. The incident was dealt with by 5.45am.”

A spokesperson for the NIAS said: “NIAS despatched three emergency crews to the incident. Following assessment and initial treatment, three patients were taken to Craigavon Area Hospital by ambulance.”

The conditions of those injured are unknown at this stage.

2.15pm update: Motorists are advised that the Moy Road in Armagh, which was closed earlier today following a road traffic collision, has now fully reopened.
