Fun in the sun! New community committee group hold first funday

The first event kicked off with a community funday on July 12, with entertainment and activities for all to enjoy.

A new Armagh city community group aiming to “build a stronger connection in their community” has successfully pulled off its first event!

Mullacreevie Development Committee was formed in April 2025 and is made up of a number of residents who are volunteering their time to help bring the community together.

The committee’s aim is to bring regular activities and courses to Mullacreevie for everyone to enjoy and get involved in.

The first event kicked off with a community fun day on July 12, with a great turnout from local residents who came along to show their support for the committee’s work.

The event was funded by the NIHE, with a number of local businesses getting involved by donating their services or products.

Oliver McKee provided music on the day to keep the crowd entertained, alongside displays from Bounce Around Castles, CJ’s Animals, and face painting and balloon modelling by Almarie.

Tasty treats were provided by Harry’s Ices, SPRING, Bunzys Bakery, Costcutter and the West Armagh Consortium, who all contributed to keeping guests fed and hydrated.

A book raffle was also held on the day, with tickets sold and drawn for a number of prizes including an oil voucher donated by the Mullacreevie Development Committee, and vouchers for Parkanaur Flowers, Tobyjug/Drinklink, and Gringos.

The committee would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who turned up and made donations — making it a day to remember!
