Police in Armagh have issued an appeal to young people and their parents following a rise in anti-social behaviour around Lisanally Lane — specifically at a bike track behind the Epicentre.
Officers say they’ve received multiple reports from concerned residents and local business owners about young people trespassing on the site, which is not open to the public.
In a statement, police acknowledged that summer can leave young people “at a loose end” but urged parents to speak with their children if they believe they may be accessing the site unlawfully.
“We don’t want to be a ‘kill the craic’, but we also don’t want anyone seriously injured while doing so,” said a spokesperson. “Unfortunately, the track is not open to the public.”
There have also been reports that some of those involved have acted in an abusive or intimidating manner toward local residents.
“This just isn’t acceptable,” police said. “No one should be afraid in their own home.”
Officers stressed that they want young people to enjoy their summer but asked them to do so safely and respectfully.
“We hope young people in our local area have a great summer — do so safely and respect all in the community around them.”
Thank you!
