Thieves who ram-raided premises in Limavady and stole high-value bikes have been tracked travelling across Northern Ireland and into Newry and Armagh.
Michael Gahan has been updating social media regularly since the raid happened during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Video footage has tracked their movements but the culprits have yet to be caught or the stolen property recovered.
Given the huge public feedback which has followed the theft and the videos of the thieves in transit, the owner believes that the bikes are “now too hot to handle”.
And he has appealed directly to those who stole them to leave them somewhere and make contact to say where.
In all, 25 Revvi bikes and 14 Aptum 8f e-bikes – described as very rare – were taken, with the gang using Mr Gahan’s own Ifor Williams bv106 trailer to take them away. The bikes had only just been delivered.
The haul, according to the owner, has left him out of pocket to the tune of around £50,000.
He first reported that at least four people were involved, spending three hours or more at his property at Limavady, which they left at around 3.25am on Saturday morning.
It is understood they were being towed by a dark-coloured Transit van.
Mr Gahan had appealed and has been sharing video footage with the public responding to calls to check CCTV footage if their property faced main roads.
They have been picked up travelling in the area of Markethill and the last sighting shared was shortly before 6am on Saturday morning on the A28 at Newry before joining the A1.
The owner hopes that his own efforts and those of the public will help with the recovery of the bikes.
The police are also appealing for information.
Chief Inspector Adams said: “At approximately 10.40am on Saturday 15th August, it was reported that access had been forced to the premises in Aghanloo Industrial Estate, and damage caused to a shed door and a number of fences. CCTV wires had also been cut.
“A number of e-bikes had been taken from the premises, together with an Ifor Williams trailer.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the incident, or in the days leading up to it, or who has any information which might assist, to get in touch.
“The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 532 of 15/08/236.”
