It was a draw at Armagh’s Box-It Athletic Grounds on Saturday night when the Orchardmen took on Mayo in round four in Division One of the Allianz Football League.
The score card read Armagh 1-17 Mayo 1-17 at full time with the Armagh side’s only goal coming from corner-back Paddy Burns.
Reflecting on the team’s performance in a post-game interview with Armagh GAA, Armagh Manager Kieran McGeeney said: “It’s always a point on the board and you have to take that definitely.
“We had our chances but the way the game is played now seven or eight points is not a big lead especially if there is a breeze.
“They would have been disappointed if they get up on four during that black card time which was a big blow to us so we just have to tidy up on the discipline side of things.”
In anticipation of Armagh’s coming match at home grounds this Saturday against Dublin, McGeeney said: “It will be a big game and it’s going to be a tough one”.
