Acknowledgement for the late Seamus Connolly (Derrynoose)

Connolly Seamus, January 19, 2022, (Derrynoose). Seamus’ wife Geraldine, daughters Cathy, Caroline, Maria and Amanda, son Shane, his grandchildren and his sisters wish to express their profound thanks and appreciation to all those who offered support and sympathy to them.

Thanks to all those who attended the wake and funeral, brought mass/sympathy cards and gifts of food and flowers.

We also acknowledge all those who telephoned, wrote letters or posted online their expressions of sympathy, we assure all were gratefully received.

Massive thanks to our fantastic neighbours and friends whose efforts over the wake and funeral were nothing short of extraordinary for their traffic control at our house, assisting on the farm, digging the grave and for honouring Seamus in carrying his coffin. We must also acknowledge the work of the ladies in the kitchen who made and served tea throughout those days.

We thank the medical and nursing staff from 2 North CAH and to Keady District Nursing Team whose care of Seamus at home was exemplary in particular Caroline and Coriena.

Special thanks to Fr Raymond Donnelly (Seamus’ nephew and Godson) for celebrating a very personal and fitting funeral mass which no doubt Seamus would have been very proud and honoured by. Also massive gratitude to all the priests of Keady parish and especially Canon Crawley for concelebrating the funeral mass and for his pastoral care over the years.

The funeral mass was greatly enhanced by the music and singing provided by Marie Fox and her Organist and to Roseanne the Sacriston for preparing the church.

Special mention also to Mone Funeral Directors for the compassionate and professional handling of all the funeral arrangements. Bridget’s attention to detail and responsiveness was excellent.

Finally to Ellen’s and McGleenans for the welcome refreshments after the funeral and to Derrynoose GAC for the use of the club.

At the risk of failing to mention someone we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as a sincere token of our appreciation.

Seamus month mind mass will be held on Saturday February 19, at 7pm in St Mochuas Church Derrynoose
