The family of the late Miceál Hanratty R.I.P., Fr. Malachy, John, Eileen, May and Jean wish to thank all who sympathised and supported them at the time of Miceál’s death.
We thank all who called at our home and to all near and far who telephoned, brought and sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, letters, flowers, wreaths, fruit and food including Ol’ Flowers, Blooms, McAnerney’s and Cordelia’s.
Our thanks also to Cormac and Mulberry Bistro staff.
Special thanks to Archbishop Eamon Martin, Cardinal Sean Brady and to the many Priests and Nuns who visited our home, came to the Cathedral on Tuesday evening and were in the congregation for Miceál’s funeral.
We thank everyone there and the many people who joined us on web cam. To all who travelled long distances we are most grateful.
We were amazed at the huge numbers of friends outside our house and the many people who lined the streets and escorted Miceál to the Cathedral.
Thank you especially to those who formed a Guard of Honour and carried the coffin, Harps G.A.A. and numerous friends.
We are grateful to the various organizations, Armagh Parish Pastoral Council, Legion of Mary, Pioneer Association, Credit Union, Apostolic Work, St. Joseph’s Young Priests Society and Paul Duggan and Michael Geoghegan Ulster Council G.A.A.
and to his special friends and colleagues in Hughes, Elliotts and Frenchs.
A special word of thanks to Fr. Peter McAnenly for celebrating Miceál’s Funeral Mass and for his moving Homily.
Also to Fr. Barry, Fr. Emmanuel and Columban Priests, Fr. Mick, Fr. Neil and Fr. Kevin who concelebrated and to Fr. Ray, Fr. Pat, Fr. Peter and Fr. Damien.
Thank you to Cathy Kelly, Patricia Hagan and Orla McAlinden for beautiful music and song which enhanced the Funeral Liturgy, and to the Sacristan and Eucharistic Ministers.
Thank you to Fr. Peter and Fr. Barry for attending to Miceál and to the Doctors and staff present and past Abbey Court Surgery especially Dr. O’Reilly and Dr Katherine Marshall and to Dr Ant O’Hagan and staff and Dr Liggett and staff Craigavon and to the staff past and present Dougan’s Chemist, Ogle Street.
Our thanks to the Ambulance Service for their invaluable help especially Paramedic Shauna.
We greatly appreciate the kindness and support given by Hugo and Sharon McArdle and their entire staff.
Our thanks to them for the professional and dignified way they carried out the funeral arrangements
and to Michael who prepared the grave.
Miceál’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Friday February 25, 7.30pm.
