Acknowledgement for the late John Kearney (Armagh)

Kearney, John.

We, the family of the late John Kearney would like to thank everyone who sympathised with and supported us in our recent bereavement.

To our relatives, friends and neighbours on the Tyra Road and further afield.

Thank you to everyone who called at the house, brought food (special thanks to Cordelia who sent food for the wake) cards, messaged and attended the funeral.

To the staff in the Friary surgery who looked after John so well for many years.

Thank you to Aideen’s colleagues from Newry ambulance station, the teams in Daisyhill and Craigavon EDs and to the staff in ward 3 Ramone for the care and compassion they showed John in the last weeks of his life.

Thank you to 1st Armagh scouts group for their help and organising at the house.

Thank you to the representatives of The Harps Club who provided a guard of honour from the house and at the Cathedral.

Thank you to John’s dear friends in the Lourdes committee, St Malachy’s prayer group and the sisters of the Missionaries of Charity for their prayers and friendship.

To Fr Barry Matthews for attending John in hospital, supporting us and for celebrating John’s poignant and personal Funeral Mass.

Thank you to Eilis Fox for her beautiful singing and also to Kate Comiskey for supporting Fintan with his song.

Thank you again to the Harps club for providing the venue and food after the Funeral.

A special word of thanks to JJ McArdle Funeral Directors for the care and dignity they took in carrying out their duties towards John and ourselves.

There are so many people to thank and we know we cannot thank everyone individually but please know that you all made a difficult time that little bit easier.

John’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated at 12.30pm Mass on Sunday September 22, in St Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh.
