The Palestine Paintings by Zohar displayed at Aonach Mhacha

Aonach Mhacha is pleased to announce that internationally renowned Jewish-Israeli artist Zohar’s touring exhibition, The Palestinian Paintings, will be open to the public from Tuesday September 20, 2022 for 6 weeks.

This peace-building, cross-border, cross-community, interfaith, bilingual exhibition will travel to each of Ireland’s 32 counties, promoting good relations among our diverse populations.

The Palestinian Paintings, a series of works started in 2017 to address the Israeli occupation of Gaza and the West Bank. Because of belonging to and growing up in Israel, Zohar had a familiar position to witness the Six Day War of 1967 and the subsequent occupation of the territories and the ongoing and increasing displacement of Palestinian citizens.

You are invited to the launch event on Friday September 30 at 7pm! The exhibition will be available from 20th September to 1st November, Tuesday to Saturday 9:30 – 16:00.

Tá áthas ar Aonach Mhacha a fhógairt go mbeidh taispeántas camchuairte Zohar, an t-ealaíontóir Giúdach-Iosraelach a bhfuil cáil idirnáisiúnta air, The Palestinian Paintings, ar oscailt don phobal le feiceáil ón Máirt 20 Meán Fómhair 2022 ar feadh 6 seachtaine.

Beidh an taispeántas cothúcháin síochána, trasteorann, trasphobail, idirchreidmheach, dátheangach seo ag taisteal chuig gach ceann de na 32 contae in Éirinn, ag cur dea-chaidrimh chun cinn i measc ár ndaonra éagsúil.

Na Péintéireachtaí Palaistíneacha, sraith oibre a cuireadh tús leis in 2017 chun dul i ngleic le forghabháil Iosrael ar Gaza agus ar an mBruach Thiar.

Mar gheall ar a bhaineann le hIosrael agus ag fás aníos ann, bhí suíomh eolach ag Zohar chun Cogadh Sé Lá 1967 a fheiceáil agus áitiú na gcríoch ina dhiaidh sin agus an díláithriú leanúnach agus méadaitheach de shaoránaigh na Palaistíne.
