The British Film Institute (BFI) Film Academy is now open for applications in the Armagh area.
If you are aged 16-19, passionate about filmmaking, or want to work in the screen industries then apply today.
This is delivered locally by AmmA Creative Learning Centre in Armagh on Thursday evenings and a few Saturdays, from September 25 to December 13.
You will receive a OCN qualification, produce a short film and attend masterclasses by industry professionals. The course is also free of charge.
The course has been organised by BFI Academy Co-ordinators, Conor Toner and Jo Barnett.
Speaking of his own experience on the programme, Conor said: “I attended the Film Academy myself a good few years ago now and loved it, so it’s great to be back teaching it with Jo!
“The students always have such a fun time, it’s so nice to see new friendships forming while they learn about film. The course is packed with practical filmmaking skills and the main element is that they come away with their own short film, written, produced and edited within their teams.
“It’s a brilliant opportunity to get a taste of what it’s like to be on a film set as well as plenty of incites into the industry from our professional masterclass tutors. If you have any interest in being involved in film you should definitely apply!”
The deadline for entry is Friday September 12, at 9pm.
