Two men broke into a house and threatened a woman with a knife in Tandragee in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The two men, wearing balaclavas and brandishing the knife, demanded money and jewellery.
It is understood the men also wore gloves and had their shoes cover with plastic — probably in attempt to limit any forensic trail.
The incident happened in the Ballymore Park area of the town.
Councillor Gareth Wilson, who spoke to the woman after the attack, said he was shocked at what she had to say.
“I spent some time with a lady who was subjected to an awful armed robbery,” he said.
“I was shocked as she relayed what happened to her and how she was attacked with a knife by two men who broke in to her house during the night.
“Police are fully aware of this attack and I will be speaking again to Police. Those who did this are beneath contempt. Thankfully the individual is recovering.
“It’s vital we all remain vigilant and report any suspicious vehicles, people, activities to the PSNI.”
