Two lorry trailers up in flames after reports of ‘explosion’ in Tandragee

Emergency services were called to a fire at White’s Oats factory in Tandragee in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Residents reported hearing an explosion shortly after 2am.

Fire crews from Portadown, Banbridge and Lurgan all attended the scene on the Scarva Road.

A NI Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “Firefighters were called to reports of two 40ft trailers on fire at Scarva Road, Tandragee.

“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two jets and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

“The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental and the incident was dealt with by 4.30am.”

The road has since re-opened.
