Tributes paid to ‘one in a million’ Tandragee mum who was ‘kindest’ of souls

Tributes have been paid following the passing of a Tandragee mum widely regarded as one of the “kindest souls” and a truly “special” lady.

Janice Chapman sadly passed away following a long and courageous battle with illness on Wednesday (October 8).

She had spent many years working in the old stitching factory in the market town, a place where she made many life long friends.

The popular mum-of-two made friends easily. Those she encountered gravitated towards her warmth and kindness.

The news of her death has shocked and saddened her entire community.

Sharing their fondest memories of a colleague and friend, those mourning her death have called her “one in a million” and an “inspirational” fighter who was “beautiful inside and out”.

In tribute, one person said: “Such heartbreaking news about Janice always smiling our deepest sympathies and prayers to all the family lovely memories growing up beside her.”

Another added to those sentiments, saying: “So devastated and sorry about Janice. Always got a laugh with her. Beautiful and brave girl. Deepest sympathy to you all.”

A death notice described Janice as the much loved mother of Jack (Anastasia), Jody (Curtis) and Josie (Nuno) and a dear sister of Paul, Desmond, Jennifer and Jewel.

Her funeral service will take place on Friday in Richhill Elim Church at 2pm followed by committal at Ahorey Presbyterian Churchyard.

Donations are being gratefully received for Air Ambulance c/o Jackson Stoops & Sons Funeral Directors.
