The family of a Tandragee man who had been missing since the weekend have confirmed the worst possible outcome this evening (Thursday).
Thirty-three-year old Gareth Johnston (Gareth James) was last seen in the Portadown area on Sunday at around 10am, according to police.
The family of the Co Armagh chef had made several social media appeals in the hope of finding the popular young man.
His father, Jimmy, has since confirmed that Gareth has been found.
“It is with a broken heart I must report that Gareth has been found dead,” he wrote on social media.
“Initial facts indicate a possible seizure; he apparently looked at peace.
“I want to thank you all for the assistance in the search. May God bless you.
“I will be off social media so won’t be replying to any comments. Gareth is with The Lord and Anna. Funeral details will follow in the next few days. Thank-you.”
Tributes have been paid online, with the wider community offering prayers for the family at this tragic time.
