Daily road closure through Laurelvale until end of September as resurfacing due to start

Over 1,000 metres across two separate sections of the road will be resurfaced with work starting on Monday

Work starts on Monday on a major resurfacing scheme in Laurelvale.

Main Street and Mullavilly Road will benefit from the £292,000 investment, when over 1,000 metres across two separate sections of the road are resurfaced.

Work also includes localised footway refurbishment.

To complete this scheme safely, a daily weekday road closure will be in operation from until Friday, September 25, from 8am to 6pm.

The road will be open to traffic in the evenings during the week and all day Saturday and Sunday.

Local access for residents will be maintained at all times during the works. Signed diversion routes will be in place.

A DfI spokesperson said: “The Department has programmed the work operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience, however, road users should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the area.

“Completion of the work by 25 September 2020 is dependent on favourable weather conditions.

“The Department will keep the public informed of any change. All work will be carried out in line with current public health and health and safety advice, with safe systems of working in place for staff and contractors.”
