Broad daylight burglaries over past week in Gilford

Detectives are appealing for information after a number of burglaries were reported in Gilford over the past week.

Detective Sergeant Stewart said that shortly before 9am on Monday, October 13, a van was broken into in the Clare Road area, with a quantity of tools worth approximately £1,500 taken.

“At 11am, two further reports were received that entry had been gained to a garage and a shed in the nearby Ballymacanallen Road area,” he added. “A number of items were disturbed, however nothing was taken.”

On Tuesday, October 14, at approximately 11am, another garage in the Ballymacanallen Road area was broken into, with gardening equipment stolen from the property.

The final report came at 4.35pm on Wednesday, October 14, when a property on the Banbridge Road was burgled. A window was smashed and items of significant value were taken.

Detective Sergeant Stewart appealed to the public for help: “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anyone suspicious in either area or to anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist with enquiries to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference 433 14/10/25.”
