Southern Area Hospice launch ‘Big Bucket Collection 2023’

Southern Area Hospice Services are calling on the local community to get behind their ‘Big Bucket Collection’ which takes place in towns and villages throughout the Southern Trust Area on Friday March 24, 2023.

On this date, collections will take place in locations that include: Armagh, Newry, Dungannon, Warrenpoint, Camlough, Kilkeel, Banbridge, Rostrevor, Portadown, Lurgan and Crossmaglen.

With an aim to raise £30,000 in just one day for Hospice services, volunteers are needed to make the collection a ‘big’ success to enable the Hospice to continue providing specialist palliative care and support to people living in the Southern Trust Area.

Siobhan McArdle, Fundraising Manager at the Hospice, said: “Last year, our ‘Big Bucket Collection’ raised an outstanding total of £40,126. This was because of the overwhelming level of support from local people, businesses and schools and this year we really hope to replicate this across our area.

“£30,000 would cover 12.5 days of nursing care for Hospice, so the Big Bucket Collection is so worthwhile. If you can donate one to two hours of your time to collect in your town, we would love to hear from you, it really does make a big difference.”

Could you and your family, friends or work colleagues come together to volunteer at one of the collection locations? If you would like to take part, we would love to hear from you!
