Two men taken to hospital following border crash near Jonesborough

Two men were taken to hospital following a crash close to the south Armagh border on Saturday night.

The Faughart/Jonesborough Road was closed for a period due to the severity of the single-vehicle collision, which occurred around 8pm.

It happened between the Dublin/Belfast railway bridge at Carrickaneena and the border crossing at Edenappa.

Two people who were travelling in the car were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, one of whom was unconscious at the scene.

However, Gardai described their injuries as non life threatening.
