Sadness at sudden passing of young Co Armagh doctor set to be married

Tributes have been paid to a young Co Armagh doctor – who was engaged to be married – following his sudden passing.

Dr Sean McMahon, who was in his early 30s and formerly of Oldtown Road in Cullyhanna and Craigavon, died unexpectedly on Tuesday.

A death notice, shared by Murray Funeral Directors in Cullyhanna, described Sean as the loving fiancé of Debbie and devoted brother of Terence, Edel, Aideen (Lappin), Seárlait (Lappin) and Sarah-Louise (Muckian).

He was also the treasured son of Charles and Frances.

Tributes poured in online for a doctor “who was a pleasure to work with” and a “complete gentleman”.

His passing has been a shock in the south Armagh community and heartbreak for the many who knew and loved loved him.

Funeral details for Sean have not been released at this time.
